It is not hard to spot the Aries father in the
park: he is the one playing football with his three-year-old
son as if his life depended upon it. Or the Aries mother,
collecting her daughter at the school gates: she is the one
who arrives late and breathless, full of her day, her adventures,
her achievements.
At their best, Aries parents are enormous fun,
with an almost childlike zest for living, sharing many of
their children’s crazes and enthusiasms. They compete
with their offspring on equal terms, playing to win, regardless
of the difference in age or skill. They are honest and straightforward,
never willingly indulging in subterfuge, ploys or pretences.
At their worst, they can be a little too bossy,
self-centred and opinionated, determined that what they say
goes. On occasion, they can get so carried away with their
own interests that their children are expected to tag along
– even if it means being bored silly. When an Aries
adult knows what’s best, he or she really knows what’s
best.
Despite doting on her children, the Aries mother
encourages them to be independent from an early age. She does
not pick up her babies every time they cry, or fuss over them
unnecessarily. She is strict but fair, neither overpossessive
nor overprotective.
Father, too, will be a figure to
be respected, an ideal role model for his youngsters.
He may be less inclined to allow them their head, forgetting
that they need to be as independent as he is. As they
get older he will probably try to direct them towards
the career of his choice but the changes are that he
will fail – especially if they, too, happen to
born under the sing of Aries…
